Art Conservation Lecture and Art Assessments

On Sunday, September 20th (starting at 1pm) Teresa and Peter Fogg of Fogg Art Restoration in Wiscasset, Maine will present a one hour lecture on conservation and restoration of oil paintings and period frames. The oral presentation will include an introduction and explanation of the reasons for collections care, conservation and restoration of artworks. The Foggs do conditions assessments and treatment options; they do not do monetary appraisals or historical research. Objects from several willing audience members will be used in the presentation as examples.

There is the opportunity to sign up in advance for individual non-binding, 15-minute evaluations from 2:20 until 5:00 pm. These are not completely private but they are not in front of a whole room full of people. The cost is $20.00 for each sign up and the fees are a donation to the library.

On Monday, September 21st there are spaces for appointments from 10 to noon at $20 per appointment. The Foggs are also offering two house calls at $50.00 for an appointment which would take place sometime between 2 and 5 pm and set up in advance by contacting the library at 508-548-4709.
