Play description: Lights. Camera. Climate.
It’s Hollywood’s chance to take on climate change. How? By making a major motion picture. The film is a disaster movie, designed to wake up the complacent among us, but now it’s over budget, behind schedule, and threatening to become a real-life disaster for everyone involved. The earth warms. The glaciers melt. Science is debated. And a film crew fights to get a last shot in before losing daylight.
Bess Wohl’s (pictured) plays include Small Mouth Sounds (Top ten of 2015 in The New York Times; Drama Desk Award; Outer Critics Circle and Off-Broadway Alliance nominations; National Tour launching in Fall 2017), American Hero, Barcelona, Cats Talk Back and Pretty Filthy, in collaboration with Michael Friedman and The Civilians (Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk nominations for Outstanding Musical). Her work has been produced or developed at Second Stage, Ars Nova, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and The Geffen Playhouse among others. Bess also writes for film and television and has developed projects for HBO, ABC, USA, Disney, and Paramount.
