The Library’s children’s winter session for two early literacy programs, Mother Goose on the Loose® and Story Boat, is underway, taking place on Tuesdays and Fridays. The programs are being held at the Turning Pointe Dance Studio at 509 Thomas Landers Road, East Falmouth until construction at the West Falmouth Library is completed. There are no programs the week of February Vacation (20th-24th), April vacation (17th-21st) or on Good Friday, April 14th, 2017. Programs end for the summer the second week of June.
There is no advanced registration but the weekly program sessions are designed for 15 children and their care-givers at each session. We ask that participants choose one time a week to attend as the content is the same at each meeting and so we can provide space for all who wish to participate. Donations will be accepted to help cover the cost of the programs each week. In case of inclement weather, the programs will not take place if the Falmouth public schools are closed.
Mother Goose on the Loose® (MGOL) is a thirty-minute early literacy program designed for infants up to age three and their caregivers. The program is offered on Tuesday at 10:15 and 11:15 and on Friday at 10:15. This program is led by staff member Amy Sellers and it includes songs, rhymes and active participation.
Story Boat, an early literacy preschool story time with movement is designed for children ages 3 up to 6 years will meet on Tuesday and Friday at 10:15 am with 15 spaces available at each session. This drop in program is led by Library staff member Rosemary Modic and includes rhymes, stories, and movement activities.
