The Falmouth Chorale is sponsoring a master class for area voice students on Thursday, March 17, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM, in collaboration with the West Falmouth Library. The class will be led by soprano Rachele Schmiege. The public is invited to observe the master class and attend the reception following the class. Donations to support the master class series and the West Falmouth Library will be accepted at the door.
Up to seven voice students will be selected to perform a prepared piece of their own choosing from the classical repertoire. Lucy Banner will provide piano accompaniment. Ms. Schmiege will provide practical suggestions for the aspiring singers. These master classes have proven to be of interest to music lovers, in general, and can demonstrate useful techniques for all singers.
The audience will enjoy the diverse performances, observe the coaching process and celebrate progress individual students make by incorporating Ms. Schmiege’s suggestions into their performance of selected passages.
Singers who are interested in applying to be a participant must currently be studying with a voice teacher and should at least be in high school. College students and adults are also welcome to apply. Interested singers should contact Chorale Manager Sarah Sadler immediately to obtain an application at 774-392-2383 or falmouthchoralemanager@gmail.
