Mary Lovell Presents A Personnel Officer’s WWll Photo/Diary

 

Diary excerpts and photo presentation from Frank Lovell WWll photo/diary by his daughter, Mary Lovell. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 7-8pm. Free, but call to reserve a seat.

Frank Lovell was a Chief Warrant Officer, Personnel Adjunct, in the 60th Field Artillery of the 9th Infantry Division during WWII. He kept a diary from 1940 until he passed away in 1996. His military service included the invasion of North Africa, Sicily, D-Day +4 – European Theater of operation (France, Belgium, Germany, Austria). During this time he kept a very detailed diary and took over 300 photos, excerpts of which will be read by his daughter, Mary Lovell. She will also share some of her father’s photos from the European Theater, and give updates on some of the people in the photos. She has made multiple trips to the same towns he went to in France, Belgium and Germany.

Mary Lovell lives in West Falmouth, MA and plans to publish a book of her father’s diary and photos.
