The Library, in collaboration with The Falmouth Chorale, is sponsoring a master class for area singers, led by baritone Thomas Jones on Thursday, March 14 from 4:30 to 6pm. The public is invited to observe the class and attend the reception following. Donations to support the master class and the West Falmouth Library will be accepted at the door.
Seven vocal students have been chosen to perform a prepared piece of their own choice from the classical repertoire. Mr. Jones will give practical suggestions for the aspiring singers. Mr. Jones will appear as soloist, singing the voices of Archangel Raphael and Adam, with The Falmouth Chorale and Orchestra in performances of Joseph Haydn’s The Creation on Saturday, March 16, 7:30 pm and Saturday, March 17 at 3 pm.
Mr. Jones is an accomplished voice teacher and choral clinician, having conducted master classes and clinics throughout the United States at colleges, high schools and for community, church and professional choruses. He has adjudicated at dozens of solo competitions and choral festivals. Thomas Jones has been teaching voice through the Office for the Arts at Harvard University for 22 years.
