Summer Events for Children

Thursday, June 29, 3 – 4pm, Coding for Kids entering 1st to 3rd grade, Part 1: Come and find out what the buzz is about coding! Kristin Bergeron will be using Code.org, Scratch and Tynker to teach basic coding and programming skills to create exciting and interactive projects. Please call to register and tell us if you can bring your own laptop or tablet.

Tuesdays July 11th, 18th, 25th, August 1st, 8th, 15th at 10:30am, Story Boat, free drop-in stories rhymes, and crafts for children 3 and up with Miss Rosemary.

Tuesday, July 11th, 4pm, Build a Better World Magic Show with Debbie O’Carroll highlights some of our world’s wondrous architecture. Join us for a program full of magic, comedy, and audience involvement. All ages. Tickets $3.

Thursday, July 13th, 3 – 4pm, Coding for Kids entering 1st to 3rd grade, Part 2: Coding is an invaluable skill to create exciting and interactive projects. Please call to register and tell us if you can bring your own laptop or tablet. Attend either or both sessions.

Saturday, July 29th at 11:00am, It’s Not a Box, Story and craft project for children 4 and up to build with imagination. Please call to register. Limited to15.

Thursday, August 3rd at 3pm: STEM Challenge What’s the largest tower you can make with only newspaper and some tape? A marble run with paper towel tubes? Come in a see our most recent STEM challenge and see if you are up for the challenge? Please call to register.

Tuesday, July 11th, 10am – noon: Stage Talk, Cape Cod Theater Project: The audience will hear about and see samples of upcoming programs.

Friday, July 14th – Saturday, July 29th: Art Show and Sale, Opening Reception 5 to 7pm, Friday, July 14th. Open during library hours.

Thursday, July 20th at 6:30pm: Cameron Collins, Americana / Acoustic Rock n’ Roll, Americana-Irish music, on the deck or indoors. Donations accepted.

Wednesday, August 2nd at 7:00pm: Notescapes, great Jazz and a cappella with Tom Goux. Tickets $10.

Friday, August 4th at 3pm: Cape Cod Residential Architecture. Hear Betsy Bray’s illustrated talk is about the evolution of architecture and the work of the Cape Modern House Trust.

Friday, August 11th at 5pm: The Cocktail Hour Garden. Author C.L. Fornari will show how to create a mood-setting garden atmosphere. Tickets $15.

Thursday, August 17th at 7pm: Rowan Brothers in Concert, an exciting mixture of folk, rock,and country music. Tickets $15.

Friday, August 25th at 4:00pm: John F. Carafoli, author of Great Italian American Food in New England. Tickets $10.

Sunday, August 27th to Saturday, September 9th, Photography Show, Opening Reception, 4 – 6pm Sunday, August 27th. Open during library hours.
