Winter Concert, “Songs of the Sea”, with John Yankee

 

Monday February 15th at 7pm (snow date February 22nd), Winter Concert, “Songs of the Sea”, with John Yankee. Tickets are $15 for adult and $5 for students, available at the library starting February 2nd. The concert addresses the waters in many ways, with songs of sailing and fishing, shanties and sing-alongs, a tribute to fresh water lakes, all interspersed with hornpipes, reels, and humor. Special guests include the 8-member men’s chorus from Falmouth Academy, directed by John Yankee.

Bio: A dynamic and versatile musician, John Yankee is artistic director of Falmouth Chorale, Music Director of the Falmouth Chamber Players Orchestra, director of music of John Wesley United Methodist Church, choral director at Falmouth Academy, and founding artistic director of the Cape Cod Children’s Chorus. Since coming to the Cape in September 2007, he has been active in many other musical venues as a singer and performer on the hammered dulcimer and keyboards. In addition, he coaches ensembles, teaches privately, and leads a variety of concerts, workshops, and community sings.
