The West Falmouth Library first completed an oral history program between 1974 and 1976. Inspired by this project and the desire to document the stories of present-day community members, the oral history program was reestablished in March 2014 after the Library received a grant from the Falmouth Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation.

The purpose of the project was to record experiences of growing up and living in West Falmouth in order to complement the 1974-1976 project and to preserve these memories for future generations. Ten interviews were conducted between April 2014 and September 2015. The video was prepared in November 2016 in order to share excerpts from the interviews with the public. Complete interviews are available from the West Falmouth Library Archives.
