Avian Improv Slideshow & Concert

Join us Sunday, November 14th at 5pm at the Library for a unique live music experience, with a “birdy” twist! Avian Improv is the brainchild of painter and photographer Lanny McDowell and pianist David Stanwood, both residents of Martha’s Vineyard. Watch a slideshow of Lanny McDowell’s evocative, lovely bird photography while David Stanwood improvises interludes on piano. McDowell and Stanwood first collaborated in 2005. Since then, they have brought their concerts to venues across the Cape and Islands. Proof of full vaccination required, as are masks before, during, and after the concert.

McDowell says about the collaboration: “Ours has a broad mission that includes promoting well-being, inspiring awe, generating spiritual revival, sourcing emotional rescue, detoxing from stress damage, slowing down, celebrating art and encouraging responsible nature conservation.”
