Libby for Kindle Fire

FAQs:

How do I get my username and PIN number? Your username is your CLAMS library card number, and your PIN number is the same PIN you use with our CLAMS library catalog. If you don’t know your PIN number, call the library and we can help you reset it.

How many items can I borrow?

You can borrow up to 5 titles at one time and place up to 15 holds with your CLAMS library card. By connecting the other 7 MA library network cards to your Libby account, you can borrow even more titles!

Do I need an Internet connection? Only to browse the Libby catalog and to download your eBook, eAudiobook or eMagazine.

What happens when a title expires? The titles will automatically return themselves so there is no action needed on your part.

What if I don’t finish my eBook, eAudiobook or eMagazine? The app will remember your place. Simply check out the title again to resume reading or listening.

Can I renew an eBook, eAudiobook or eMagazine? Yes. If there are no holds on the title, you can renew two days before it is due. Go to your “Shelf” and simply tap or click on “Manage Loan,” then “Renew Loan,” and then “Renew”.

Why can’t I get an “Available Now” title?

Because that particular “Available Now” title is owned by a different library and those titles can not be shared with other library patrons.

Can I read an eBook in my Kindle reading app?

Yes. You can read your book either in the Libby app or in your Kindle reading app. When looking for a title, make sure “Kindle” or “Kindle Book” is listed under formats or supports. For more information and how to read using the Kindle reading app, please check out the “Borrow eBooks to read on your Kindle E-Reader” pamphlet.
