Libby for Kindle

FAQs:

How do I get my username and PIN number? Your username is your CLAMS library card number, and your PIN number is the same PIN you use with our CLAMS librayr catalog. If you don’t know your PIN number, call the library and we can help you reset it.

How many items can I borrow?

You can borrow up to 5 titles at one time and place up to 15 holds with your CLAMS library card. By connecting the other 7 MA library network cards to your Libby account, you can borrow even more titles!

Do I need an Internet connection? Yes. You will need an Internet connection to borrow the eBook in Libby and then to transfer and download the eBook to your Kindle.

Why can’t I get an “Available Now” title?

Because that particular “Available Now” title is owned by a different library and those titles cannot be shared with other library patrons.

Why can’t I send an eBook to my Kindle?

The book may not be available for the Kindle. You can check by tapping or clicking on the book jacket in Libby, then scrolling to the “Supports or Formats” sections and looking for “Kindle” or “Kindle Book.” You may also have already downloaded the eBook in a different format.

I am having trouble getting an eBook from Amazon to my Kindle. What should I do?

If you’re having trouble getting an eBook from Amazon’s website onto your Kindle, we recommend redelivering it from your Amazon account. Once you are logged into your Amazon account, under the “Account & Lists” from the drop-down menu, select “Content & Devices.” Select “Deliver” or “Remove from Device” next to your eBook. To re-deliver the eBook, select the device to deliver the eBook to, then select “Make Changes”. If this doesn’t work, we recommend you contact the library and Amazon Support.
