Mr. King’s Jazz Talk will cover the dynamic duo of Louis Prima & Keely Smith: Louis’ founding role in the Swing movement; how Louis & Keely transformed Las Vegas with the help of jazz sax great Sam Butera; the story behind “That Old Black Magic”; and their personal lives, including post-split.

Frank King holds a Masters in Broadcasting from Boston University and a BA from Princeton. A lifelong devotee of recorded music, he has hosted music programs on WBUR radio, and was a News Producer at WCVB TV and an Asst. Professor at B.U.. His lectures draw from the music and art from his personal collection of over 2500 record albums. He’s presented several hundred highly acclaimed music lectures around Greater Boston and Cape Cod since 2014.
