“I receive inspiration from the natural beauty of Cape Cod – the changing seasons and subtle colors. I love the expanse of sea and sky, the ever-changing light and reflections, and the interplay of these elements with the water and the near and far shores.

I create paper collages and paper bowls using layers of watercolor, handmade papers, and bits of Nature such as leaves, grasses and seaweed. The papers have rich textures and colors, sometimes opaque, sometimes transparent. They create unique soft edges, when torn, and depth of color, when layered. I relish the challenge of “painting” with the limited palette of color available in handmade paper. I add plants which, when dried and pressed, become like paper, adding depth, texture and their natural grace. When working, I feel I am painting with these elements, not gluing or constructing; I am creating with Nature and not trying to reproduce it.

Over the past almost 55 years, I have explored different media and craft techniques (Batik and Silk Painting, Sewing, “Paper Quilts”) to push the boundaries of craft into the fine arts. I studied at the Instituto Allende in Mexico and at the Museum School in Boston. I have taught adults and children at various schools, summer camps, art centers, and privately. My work has been shown in many galleries, shows and Museum stores.

My pieces are unique, original, one-of-a-kind works which have been exhibited in many galleries, shows and museum stores. I hope you enjoy my works and that they bring some feelings of peace into your life.”
